Oracle Database Administrator

Talent Space, Inc, is seeking a Database Administrator for a hybrid contract to hire opportunity in San Jose, CA, Saco, ME, Cromwell, CT, or New Braunfels, TX!This position is responsible for the design, configuration, administration, and optimization of enterprise database and application environments. The role supports the implementation of technical architecture, monitors system performance, and contributes to operational governance to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient application solutions that align with organizational goals.The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and initiatives. By collaborating with business and technology stakeholders, this role helps maintain high system availability, drives continuous process improvement, and ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational standards.Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain enterprise database environments, including installation, configuration, patch management, upgrades, and performance monitoring to ensure system reliability and efficiency.Execute and validate database backup, recovery, and restore processes, including routine testing to ensure business continuity and data integrity.Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve routine and moderately complex database and application issues; serves as an escalation point for support inquiries and coordination with senior technical resources when additional expertise is required.Conduct root cause analysis for database and application incidents, documenting finding and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve system stability and reduce recurring issues.Monitor database performance, availability, and utilization of metrics, providing insights to support capacity planning, resource optimization, and future growth requirements.Support data migration initiatives by implementing schema changes, coordinating deployment activities, and validating outcomes to ensure data integrity, performance, and operational efficiency.Develop and maintain database automation solutions, including scripting, pipeline integration, and standardized deployment frameworks to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and scalability.Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives, including the design, implementation, and testing of high-availability, replication, backup, and failover solutions.Implement and maintain database security controls, including encryption, access management, vulnerability remediation, and security best practices to protect enterprise data assets.Support regulatory, compliance, and audit activities, ensuring adherence to established controls, documentation standards, and operational requirements.Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging database and infrastructure technologies to enhance network performance and provide operating efficiencies.Contribute to the development and maintenance of database standards, policies, and operational procedures; identify and recommend process improvements to strengthen efficiency, consistency, and data integrity.Operate with autonomy, exercising sound technical judgment and decision-making while collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, serving as a key resource and fostering knowledge sharing across the team.Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.Demonstrate a strong commitment to cybersecurity, ethical business practices, and compliance with organization policies, standards, and procedures.Required to complete occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines or address emergencies as needed.Perform additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as required or assignedQualifications:Bachelor's Degree, with 3-5 years of relevant experience in database administration, or a related technical discipline.Holds certifications as required for the team's need or directed by management.Experience designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise database environments and system integrations.Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages used for database administration, automation, and troubleshooting.Hands-on experience with database performance tuning, high-availability architectures, clustering technologies, and capacity management.Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and middleware technologies.Strong experience supporting and administering Oracle Utilities applications.Experience with WebLogic administration, performance tuning, and cloud-based services.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational, analytical and problem- solving skills.Demonstrated ability to manage projects while collaborating effectively.Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and internal control frameworks, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.Knowledge of ITIL 4 principles, service management processes preferred.Administer, maintain, and support Customer and Work Force Management Systems applications, including Oracle CC&D, CCS, MWM, OFS, Utiligy, Edifice, Impresa, VxField, Field Hawk, payment portal platforms, and Jira. Ensure system reliability, secure user access, accurate data processing, and uninterrupted customer service and billing operations.Design, develop and validate reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions using Tableau, Crystal Reports, SQL and related business intelligence tools to provide actionable insights that support customer experience, billing accuracy, operational performance, and strategic decision-making.Manage data integration, synchronization, and quality across customer systems and enterprise platforms.
