Note: Fixtures designing is the key in an aerospace or medical device industry for this role.
We are currently looking for an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join the Endovascular Robotics medical device division, which is the first FDA-cleared medical device to bring robotic-assisted precision to neurovascular, percutaneous coronary, and peripheral interventions.
The Senior ElectroMechanical Engineer will be a part of the R&D organization and an important contributor to the realization of the next-generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare.
You will be a highly visible technical resource working on the development of complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
There will be direct involvement from prototype to verification builds and testing within a regulated medical device development environment.
This role is suited for an R&D engineer with experience in developing electromechanical fixtures, authoring documentation, establishing verification tests, and assisting with electromechanical issue resolution.
Support identification of, specification creation for, development, and characterization of manufacturing in-line test and build fixtures
Identify improvement points in the electromechanical assembly build process
Develop electromechanical fixtures to support the development of complex medical robotics system
Assist in specifying firmware and software development requirements for fixtures
Author relevant documents related to fixture designs and development process improvements
Qualifications:
Strong Experience in complex electromechanical system R&D environment
Bachelor’s and/or Masters degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or a close field is required
Experience in heavily regulated industries such as medical device or aerospace is required
Must have hands-on experience in the design, assembly, and testing of electro-mechanical systems
Knowledge of industry best practices for the development of complex electromechanical systems
Familiarity with ASME V&V (Verification & Validation) 40 a plus
Previous experience in design transfer/new product introduction desired
Demonstrated CAD proficiency highly desired. Solidworks preferred.
Experience with statistical tools and software such as Minitab is desired
Experience using, modifying, and programming in MATLAB, Simulink or LabView is highly desired
Experience developing firmware/software code/applications is highly desired
Must have experience in cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership
Must have experience in project management including task timeline estimation and work breakdown structures
Outstanding documentation and communication skills required
Proficiency in using MS Office required
