Field Service Engineer | Remote Position

We are looking for a well-qualified, talented Field Service Engineer to perform service, diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance of very large, high-power rotating electric machinery, motors and generators, during field service visits domestically and abroad. The full-time role reports to the After Market Services Manager and works closely with the Field Service team. The successful candidate must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by the ITAR (22 C.F.R. § 120.62) or be able to obtain the appropriate U.S. government authorization (export license) to access such technology or technical data. U.S. Person status is required for this position.""U.S. Person definition: A U.S. Person includes a citizen of the United States, a permanent resident alien (Green Card holder), a refugee, or a person granted asylum"RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONSWork safely and ethically alone and as part of a teamClosely adhere to safety and security standards and proceduresComplete assigned work in compliance with policies and proceduresProvide world-class customer service and customer-facing skillsWhen not traveling:Report to Mansfield, OH plant; working remotely is an option for this position with occasional requirements to travel to Mansfield facilityProvide technical support to customers (phone, virtual, in-person when needed)Prepare/organize service tripsResearch and prepare supporting documentationArrange travelComplete any customer-required training/testing before travelPlan services and support operationsComplete documentation/reportsJob-specific expense reportingPerform work in various other departments, including but not limited to Test Floor, Punch Press, Repair Shop, MarketingWhen Traveling:Install and commission equipmentTroubleshoot and repair equipmentProvide on-site technical and engineering assistance pertinent to the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment and systemsAssume responsibility for any and all issued, loaned, and/or leased tools and equipment required for the jobProvide training (on-site, in-house or virtual)DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIESHigh School Diploma or certified equivalent, and/or education obtained through a tech school, college, or related courses. Military experience is a plusFive to ten years working in a related field with practical experience operating large rotating electrical, high voltage, electronic and mechanical equipmentExperienced working with customers and vendors in a B2B environmentA team player with excellent communication skillsAnalytical thinking and problem-solving capabilityGreat attention to detail and time-management skillsTechnical literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 suite, project management, and ERP systemsWORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURSDaily 8-12 hours. Weekly 40-80 hours. Overtime as required, subject to customer site schedules and may vary based upon the specific needs of individual assignments.
