Accounting Analyst

Role: Accountant III (For Regulated Revenue Accounting)Location: Houston TX 77056 – OnsiteEmployment Type: Contract 6 months +Below is the job description.Responsibilities/Expectations:Performs assigned month-end activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SECreporting and variance analysisPrepares, maintains and develops schedules, reports, and analyses for internal/external customersProvides requested documentation and clear explanations for audit processesParticipates in small projects with minimal mentorship and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experienceProcesses and analyses significant amounts of data, including issues and transactionsOther duties as assignedEducation/Years of Experience:Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related major with a strong accounting focus and minimum four (4) years experience in accounting in the energy industryOther Requirements:Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priorityProficient use of Microsoft Office applicationsPromotes effective cross-functional communication and collaboration within the team and across departmentsStrong analytical, problem-solving and financial skillsPreferred: Familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Preferred: Revenue Accounting experience
