About the CompanyCapitol Recruiters Inc. is seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst to support the Accounting department of a global law firm. This fully remote opportunity offers the chance to manage complex multi-state payroll tax compliance, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations in a dynamic professional services environment.About the RoleThe Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst is responsible for overseeing payroll tax compliance, reconciling payroll tax data, managing regulatory reporting, and ensuring accurate payroll tax processing across multiple jurisdictions. This role partners with Payroll, Accounting, General Ledger, and external vendors to maintain compliance, improve payroll tax processes, and support audit readiness.Location: Remote (United States)Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Tax ComplianceMonitor employer and employee payroll tax calculations across multiple jurisdictions.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.Prepare and process payroll tax payments accurately and on time.Maintain payroll tax records in accordance with applicable legal requirements.Reconciliation & Financial AnalysisPerform reconciliations between payroll systems and third-party tax reports.Analyze payroll tax data to identify discrepancies and resolve variances.Support quarterly and year-end payroll tax reporting activities.Collaborate with the General Ledger team to reconcile payroll tax accounts.Payroll Systems & ReportingMaintain payroll tax data within Workday and related payroll systems.Coordinate with payroll service providers, including ADP, regarding payroll tax matters.Monitor payroll tax notices and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies.Ensure payroll tax rates and system configurations remain current.Process Improvement & ComplianceDocument payroll tax procedures and reconciliation processes.Support payroll audits and regulatory compliance initiatives.Stay informed of legislative changes affecting payroll tax compliance.Recommend process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and operational efficiency.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of payroll and payroll tax experience.At least 3 years of experience managing multi-state payroll tax compliance.Advanced experience with Workday HRIS.Strong Microsoft Excel skills.Thorough knowledge of payroll tax legislation, accounting principles, and audit requirements.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information.PreferredExperience working with ADP payroll systems.Experience supporting payroll tax audits and regulatory examinations.Knowledge of payroll tax reporting across multiple jurisdictions.Experience working within a large corporate or professional services environment.BenefitsFully remote work environment.Opportunity to work for a global law firm.Exposure to complex multi-state payroll tax compliance.Collaborative Accounting and Payroll team environment.Professional development and career advancement opportunities.Opportunity to contribute to process improvements and compliance initiatives.Ideal CandidateThis opportunity is ideal for professionals who:Have strong expertise in payroll tax compliance and multi-state payroll regulations.Enjoy analyzing complex financial and payroll data.Thrive in detail-oriented, compliance-driven environments.Are proactive in improving payroll processes and internal controls.Want to build a long-term career supporting enterprise payroll operations.Equal Opportunity EmployerCapitol Recruiters Inc. and its client are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law.
