Counselor-Behavioral Health MS

OverviewPosition Title: Counselor – Behavioral Health (MS)Shift: Full-Time, DayLocation: GreenbushPosition Overview:Facilitates patient involvement in treatment and education within a clinical setting. Performs individual, group, and family counseling, along with utilization review and discharge planning. Collaborates with healthcare team members to ensure patients receive safe, timely services and access to necessary resources. Assesses psychosocial risk factors, supports emotional and social well-being, and provides crisis intervention when needed. Serves as a liaison for abuse, neglect, guardianship, foster care, and mental health placements.Key Responsibilities:Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide therapeutic interventions for patients and families.Assist with discharge planning and utilization review under supervision.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and resources.Serve as a point person for cases involving child and adult abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and protective services.Provide mental health assessments upon physician referral and facilitate crisis intervention.Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment; support daily activities and programming.Develop strong relationships with community agencies, law enforcement, schools, and legal entities.Document clinical activities accurately in electronic medical records.Qualifications & Requirements:Master’s Degree from an accredited college in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.Minimum of 2 years of relevant healthcare, mental health, or community experience.License-eligible in Indiana as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAC; must have a permanent LSW, LMHC-A, or LMFT-A upon hire.Certification in crisis intervention may be required; BLS certification may also be required.Knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, MI, DBT), crisis de-escalation, and legal mandates for protective services.Understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan.Ability to provide a safe, therapeutic environment and instruct daily activities.Basic proficiency in Electronic Medical Records and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Strong relationship-building skills with community, healthcare, law enforcement, and social agencies.To learn more about our benefits, visit: We are an equal opportunity employer.
