Position Highlights
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Arizona is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) Lab, under the supervision of Dr. Bo Liu.
The research team is a collaborative partnership among nine U.S. universities led by the University of Arizona, focusing on reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, neuro-symbolic AI, and trustworthy intelligence.
We invite qualified candidates to participate in cutting-edge research on these topics. This is a year-to-year appointment, contingent upon funding and performance.

Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct research in deep reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, trustworthy AI, explainable/safe AI, neuro-symbolic AI, and autonomous driving.
Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals.
Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in AI-related research projects.
Participate in grant writing and proposal development to support ongoing and future research initiatives.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge in scientific or engineering fields related to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Knowledge in control theory and its applications.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Applied Math, or a closely related field.
PhD must be conferred upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Effective writing experience for publication in scientific research journals.
