Construction Project Engineer
Serve as Project Engineer on assigned contracts at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Perform routine project engineering tasks independently; escalate complex issues to supervisor. Participate in all phases of contract modification, including preparing scopes of work and reviewing contractor proposals. Consult and coordinate with customers, project managers, and partners on project progress and problem resolution. Arrange and conduct pre-work, coordination, preparatory, and safety meetings. Review and study construction plans and specifications; recommend changes and provide feedback to designers. Develop and implement Quality Assurance (QA) Plans in accordance with regulations. Support onsite Quality Assurance Representatives with quality, safety, and coordination of construction activities. Perform periodic checks of contractors work for compliance with plans and specifications. Monitor and report on project progress; advise Resident Engineer of potential schedule delays. Review contractor submittals, including schedules, safety and quality programs, and shop drawings. Prepare correspondence related to contractor performance, RFIs, and technical issues. Assist in resolving contractor disputes and claims; provide recommendations. Prepare partial and final payment estimates, including measurement, computation, and verification of materials. Update project status and milestone events in the Resident Management System (RMS). Must work onsite (no remote work); minimum 5 years construction engineering experience and an engineering degree required.
