Psychotherapist
Position Summary:
The Clinician/Therapist is responsible for providing ethically sound, evidence-based outpatient treatment in the field of mental health within a small but growing private practice. The primary client population to be served are adults and adolescents who have mental health diagnoses.
Responsibilities:
In the role of Clinician/Therapist, the individual is responsible for:
1. Establishing therapeutic relationship with client, including any preliminary communication prior to the first appointment.
2. Conduct biopsychosocial assessments with clients, and/or their families.
3. Maintain an individual caseload of 14 or more clients per week for part-time status or 28 or more for full-time status.
4. Conduct individual sessions in person and via telehealth with clients, as well as with partners, family, groups, or others as clinically appropriate.
5. Provide a diagnosis at the conclusion of the first session.
6. Complete assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely manner (48 hours).
7. Conduct follow-ups with clients and/or collateral contacts as needed.
8. Successfully keep neat, accurate, up to date records in the EHR.
9. Ensure safety and security of all notes, including securing hard copies under lock and key.
10. Actively participates in case review and any meetings as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling
At least two years’ experience working with trauma survivors, with a focus on systemic oppression and interpersonal violence and abuse. Other trauma subspecialties will be considered.
Advanced training or supervision in trauma specific interventions, such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, somatically based interventions, IFS, TF-CBT, etc.
Ability to quickly learn EHR: advanced knowledge of internet and email.
Requirements:
Intermediate or advanced knowledge of impacts of trauma, including Complex Trauma.
Valid independent clinical licensure, such as LCSW, LPC, etc.
Strong commitment to one’s own cultural competency and cultural humility process.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to be credentialed with insurance carriers.
Strong commitment to social justice.
Ability to work independently.
Highly organized with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing or similar therapeutic techniques.
Bilingual Spanish.
Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+.
