We value our professional and caring employees who are dedicated to improving people’s lives and we want YOU to join our team!What you will be doing: Responsible for providing career preparation instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula. Provides students with basic direction, in compliance with government and management directives.Essential FunctionsProvide students with basic direction, instruction and assistance in career preparation trainingMotivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, employability skills, independent living skills and other areas relating to job search through information technologyDevelop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes; update materials with current job market, employability and life skills information to supplement curriculumEffectively manage training areas including student behavior and timely record keeping and reportingDevelop employability activities and exercisesAdminister and correct tests; maintain progress and attendance reportsControl use of equipment and supplies; make minor repairs; recommend purchasesPrepare and orient students for Job Corps program; define expectations and goals; direct and support student progression through program; counsel studentsParticipate in student panel to transition to CDPRegular and predictable attendance is requiredProvide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customersParticipate in student employability programs and activitiesSupport, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance PolicyPromote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventionsMaintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalency requiredExcellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency requiredValid driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordManagement & Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
