Our goal is to make lighting fit seamlessly into your life so you can focus on making memories with family and friends.What You’ll Do:Feit Electric is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Regulatory and Compliance to lead regulatory oversight for a broad portfolio of consumer products, including smoke alarms, lighting fixtures, smart home electronics, and other electrical devices. This role is responsible for ensuring global product compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and legal standards, while enabling efficient product development and market access. The Director will also serve as Feit Electric’s primary representative to industry trade associations and will support limited government affairs activities, including engagement with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders.Regulatory Strategy & OversightLead and manage global regulatory compliance across the full range of Feit Electric’s consumer products.Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and agencies, including UL, ETL, FCC, DOE, CPSC, ENERGY STAR, CE, and relevant international certifications.Monitor and interpret changing regulatory landscapes (e.g., Prop 65, RoHS, REACH, state EPR programs) and proactively advise the business on implications and required actions.Develop and maintain internal policies, controls, and reporting frameworks to support enterprise-wide compliance.Product Certification & Market AccessOversee all third-party product certification activities and ensure timely approvals to support go-to-market timelines.Manage and maintain Multiple Listings (MLs) with NRTLs such as UL and Intertek, including coordination of private-label and OEM listing requirements.Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product Management to integrate compliance requirements at every phase of the product development process.Implement controls to restrict the shipment or sale of products into jurisdictions where specific product categories are banned or regulated at the state or local level.Labeling, Packaging & Consumer SafetyEnsure all product labeling, packaging, and documentation meet applicable consumer safety and regulatory requirements.Lead hazard assessments and regulatory risk analysis for safety-critical categories such as smoke detectors and electrical devices.Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries, product recalls, or field issues in partnership with Quality and Customer Experience teams.Environmental & Trade ComplianceOversee compliance with global environmental regulations including WEEE, RoHS, REACH, and California Proposition 65.Own and manage Feit Electric’s compliance with the rapidly expanding landscape of state-level Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs for batteries and packaging, including:California’s Covered Battery-Embedded (CBE) waste recycling fee program (CDTFA/CalRecycle) and eWaste fee requirements.Illinois’ Portable Battery Stewardship Act (effective January 2026), requiring participation in an approved stewardship organization such as Call2Recycle.Washington State’s SB 5144 battery producer responsibility program (disposal bans phased in through 2027–2029).Vermont’s expanded battery EPR law covering rechargeable and medium-format batteries.New Hampshire’s lithium-ion battery disposal ban (effective July 2025).Packaging EPR programs in Maine, Oregon, Colorado, and other states with active or emerging producer registration and fee obligations.Emerging battery and packaging stewardship legislation in Connecticut, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, and additional states as enacted.Proactively monitor state legislative activity to identify new or amended EPR obligations before they take effect, and lead cross-functional implementation to ensure Feit is compliant in all affected markets.Maintain a compliance calendar and state-by-state obligation matrix covering registration deadlines, fee remittance schedules, reporting requirements, and reseller documentation obligations across all applicable programs.Ensure reseller and retail partner compliance confirmation processes are in place for applicable state fee collection programs, and maintain documentation to protect Feit from downstream enforcement exposure.Evaluate and manage Feit’s participation in stewardship organizations (e.g., Call2Recycle) to meet producer obligations cost-effectively across multiple jurisdictions.Support international trade compliance activities including HTS classification, customs documentation, and coordination with sourcing and logistics partners.Government Affairs & Industry EngagementRepresent Feit Electric in relevant trade associations, including NEMA, and serve as the primary point of contact for industry working groups related to regulatory and standards development.Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at the federal and state level that may affect the company’s product portfolio or market access, and brief leadership on material risks and opportunities.Conduct limited lobbying and government relations activities in coordination with Legal and senior leadership, including outreach to regulatory agencies and government officials on matters affecting Feit’s product categories.Build and maintain relationships with key agency contacts at CPSC, DOE, FCC, CDTFA, CalRecycle, EPA, and other relevant bodies.Cross-Functional LeadershipServe as the regulatory compliance process owner company-wide, ensuring alignment and accountability across functions.Drive collaboration among Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Purchasing, and Legal to ensure early detection and resolution of compliance risks.Champion a bias for action in resolving regulatory challenges—driving clarity, urgency, and responsiveness.Lead internal training programs and elevate compliance as a core component of Feit’s operational excellence and customer trust.Audit, Inspection & Enforcement ReadinessPrepare for and lead external audits, inspections, and investigations by regulatory agencies.Maintain complete regulatory documentation and ensure audit-readiness for all product families.Maintain documentation of reseller compliance with applicable state fee collection and EPR programs (e.g., CBE, eWaste, battery stewardship) as part of the company’s audit-readiness posture.Lead incident management, corrective action planning, and response strategies related to compliance violations or enforcement actions.What You’ll Need:Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Legal Studies, Environmental Policy, or a related field preferred.10+ years of progressive experience in regulatory compliance for consumer electronics, lighting, or safety-related products.Deep expertise in U.S. and international standards, including UL 217, UL 1598, FCC Part 15/18, DOE, and Energy Star.Proven success managing Multiple Listings (MLs) with UL, Intertek, and similar bodies.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders at all levels, and drive regulatory initiatives across the organization.Strong project management, communication, and documentation skills.Hands-on experience with state-level Extended Producer Responsibility programs for batteries and/or packaging, including producer registration, stewardship organization participation, fee remittance, and multi-state compliance tracking.Familiarity with battery stewardship organizations such as Call2Recycle and with emerging EPR legislation across multiple U.S. jurisdictions.Experience engaging with trade associations (e.g., NEMA) and/or regulatory agencies in a representative capacity preferred.RAC, CRCM, or equivalent professional certification preferred.What You'll Get:A
