Project Cost Analyst
We are seeking Project Cost Analysts to support capital and infrastructure project portfolios across Ohio. This role is ideal for professionals with well-rounded experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, variance reporting, and accounting principles, rather than candidates specialized in only one financial discipline. You will partner closely with Project Managers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain budget accuracy, support KPI reporting, and improve cost visibility across multiple active projects. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with utility, construction, project controls, or capital planning exposure who want to grow in a highly collaborative environment.ResponsibilitiesSupport multiple Project Managers with project budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost reportingMaintain and update project budgets within enterprise cost management and financial systemsPrepare cash flow forecasts, spend plans, estimate-vs-actuals reporting, and cost variance analysisDevelop and maintain time-phased baseline budgets and project breakdown structuresTrack and report KPIs, earned value metrics, and measurable cost performance outcomesCoordinate project meetings and support cost documentation, planning, and controls activitiesCreate, track, and manage project work orders from setup through closeoutPartner with vendors and contractors to integrate external costs into project budgets and schedulesSupport contracting, bidding, requisitions, and cost tracking workflows as neededAssist with SOX controls, UVL tracking, capital forecasts, annual budgeting, and long-range planningMaintain accurate project system records and support project governance standardsCommunicate budget status, risks, and variance updates to project teams and stakeholdersResolve vendor inquiries, work order discrepancies, and project cost issues in a fast-paced environmentRequired QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Project Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experienceORBachelor’s degree in a related field with 1+ year of relevant experienceExperience in budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, project budgets, and accounting principlesExperience supporting multiple active projects, programs, or cost centers simultaneouslyStrong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills, including reporting and data analysisStrong analytical problem-solving and variance reporting skillsExcellent organizational skills with strong attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust be located in OhioMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorshipPreferred QualificationsExperience in utility, construction, capital projects, infrastructure, or industrial environmentsExposure to project controls, earned value management, KPI dashboards, and scheduling systemsExperience with SOX activities, UVLs, work orders, capital planning, and requisition supportFamiliarity with ERP, corporate accounting, or project cost management systemsExperience working directly with vendors, contractors, and procurement teamsExposure to cash flow planning, long-range forecasting, and capital improvement planning
