Staff Accountant

Position Overview: As a member of the Finance/Accounting team, the Staff Accountant shall record, report, and analyze the financial and operating results of Marlin Mortgage (“Marlin”) and all affiliated entities through generally accepted accounting practices. The Staff Accountant works closely with the Finance/Accounting team and all third-party vendors. Company Overview:Commencing operations in January 2021, Marlin invests in and manages mortgage servicing rights (MSRs) and operates a fully integrated residential mortgage platform. Marlin and its affiliates master-service loans; own affiliated insurance, technology, and SEC-registered investment advisory businesses; and currently service approximately 170,000 loans nationwide.Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the day-to-day management of mortgage loan funding Responsible for managing borrower paymentsManage accounting transactions for all affiliated entitiesAnalytically review key general ledger accounts Prepare consolidated subsidiary financial statements with accompanying notes Assist in preparation and compilation of reporting packages for the senior management team Assist in liquidity analysis and treasury functions Assist in the year end auditAssist in ad-hoc projects as they arise Work closely with all departments Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field requiredHands-on and detail oriented Eager to work independently and collaboratively Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills Benefits:Comprehensive benefits (medical, vision, and dental insurance)401K plan with company matchingThree (3) weeks PTO FSA/HSA PlansThe expected salary range for this position is between:  $60K - $75KThis range may vary in other geographies based on market differences.
