Your future starts here.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:Coordinator Locomotive Operations Support is responsible for the management of all locomotive related service interruptions on the CPKC system. Coordinates the handling of bad order CPKC locomotives to system repair facilities. Consults with foreign carriers on the routing for movements back to CPKC. Assures compliance of Federal Railroad Association (FRA) rules regarding mechanical operations.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:Troubleshoot mechanical issues with train crews via radio communicationLead all aspects of mechanical field personnel and advises on appropriate troubleshooting steps with the goal of aiding in the repair of locomotives and freight rail cars line of roadUnderstand the different types of locomotive defects and the needed repairs to coordinate the routing of locomotives to specific shops for repairCommunicate to mechanical field managers the mechanical issues by providing specific information: train symbol, location of train delayed, description of failure defect, and time mechanical is needed to assistLead corrective action plan to train dispatchers, locomotive managers, corridor managers, transportation field managers and CPKC train crews of mechanical delays and plans to resolve themLead and coordinates the shopping and routing of captive locomotives to outside points with mechanical and transportation departmentRun and updates CPKC locomotive systems and programsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentBachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience preferred1 year railroad mechanical locomotive backgroundExperience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), SAPAbility to drill down, understand root cause and resolve complex issuesStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsStrong communication skills (provide clear and concise instructions/directions)WHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER:Flexible and competitive benefits packageCompetitive company pension and/or retirement plansEmployee share purchase planAnnual fitness subsidyPart-time studies programPRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:Drug TestingThis position is subject to a negative company drug test.Background InvestigationCriminal history checkEducation verificationProfessional referencesSocial Security Number verificationBECOMING A RAILROADER:As an employee with a North American presence, the possibility does exist that the location of your position may be changed based on organizational requirements.Management Conductor ProgramBecoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC.
