HVAC Technician
UNDERSTANDING
HVAC Technicians are essential to ensure three critical components here at Albanese, comfort conditioning, process conditioning and air quality to the whole facility. Comfort conditioning ensures everyone in the plant has suitable conditions to work in. The process conditioning ensures critical tolerances are within spec for manufacturing. Trouble shooting and responding to requests also helps maintain air quality standards in the plant.
SCOPE
Reporting to the HVAC supervisor daily with reactive and planned maintenance of all HVAC and utility equipment. Work and collaborate with both production and maintenance to perform planned and reactive maintenance. Able to maintain maintenance logs with CMMS software. Carry out safe work practices within a food manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
Perform routine maintenance
Clean, adjust, and repair systems to ensure optimal performance
Maintain daily logs and records of all maintenance functions
Respond promptly to emergency repair requests
Communicate effectively with Production and Maintenance
Perform brazing, soldering, evacuation and charging of various refrigerants
Perform water piping and insulation modifications and repairs
Respond to conditions of the plant on 24 hour basis
Diagnose problems with boiler, chilled water and hot water heating systems
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up-to 75 pounds
Ability to stand upright for up to 3-4 continuous hours
Forklift certification
Aerial lift certification
Respond to conditions of the plant on 24 hour basis
HACCP and GMP training
2 - 4 Years of Maintenance Tech experience within a Production environment
EPA Universal Certification
HVAC Certification
5-10 years of experience as an HVAC Technician
Must be able to speak, read and write in English
Regular and timely attendance
EDUCATION
Must have a High School Diploma or a G.E.D.
Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate is an asset
HVAC schooling or trade certificate
