This Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Plant Operations Director with maintaining the care of the community facility for residents, employees and the public. This includes, but is not limited to, lawn care, painting, remodeling, plumbing, floor cleaning and other general building maintenance. The maintenance person must be knowledgeable in all areas of building maintenance and must be able to work independently. The technician is also expected to assist in all aspects of the building operations, including but not limited to housekeeping, floors, transportation and laundry should the need for coverage in any of those areas arise.ResponsibilitiesFollows and upholds the community's philosophy and goal to maintain, improve and/or enhance each residents quality of care and quality of lifeFollows and upholds policies and procedures of the community. Attends and participates in facility meetings and in-service training programs as assignedFollows infection control guidelinesObserves residents rights including, but not limited to, privacy, dignity, etc.Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guestsFollows safety policies, assuring resident safetyFollows and understands the community's Emergency Preparedness plansMaintain, repair and service all facility equipment and furnishings as requiredAssist with transportation of the community's residents as requestedMust possess the ability to operate machinery and equipment in a safe mannerMaintain and clean all flooring materialAssist in laundry and housekeeping departments as neededAssist with resident transportation/driving duties as needed including; driving residents to and from appointments, assisting residents on and off the vehicle, pushing their wheelchair as necessary, etc.. May be on-call as assigned with compensation.
