Senior Accountant (Remote Work)

STS Aviation Group is on the lookout for a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior Accountant to become a vital part of our remote team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in performing and coordinating critical accounting duties, such as preparing financial reports, managing the general ledger, conducting account reconciliations, and assisting with audit preparations. If you have a strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), exceptional financial analysis skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, we want to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger Management: Gain and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the trial balance and general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Journal Entries & Reconciliations: Prepare journal entries and perform general ledger account reconciliations to keep financial records accurate and up-to-date. Financial Statement Analysis: Provide insightful financial statement analysis, demonstrating an understanding of complex business transactions. Audit Preparation: Assist with annual audit preparations, ensuring strict compliance with company policies and GAAP. Process Improvement: Collaborate with subject matter experts and project teams to drive system improvements and enhance efficiencies within the accounting department. Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform ad hoc financial analyses as needed to support business initiatives and decision-making. Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team to deliver on company objectives and initiatives. Qualifications & Skills:Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent; CPA designation or equivalent experience is preferred. Experience: 5-7 years of general accounting experience required. Experience in public accounting and within the staffing industry or shared service environments is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with multi-entity subledger accounting systems. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and strong verbal and written communication skills. Time Management: Ability to manage workload effectively and meet tight deadlines. Problem-Solving: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a high degree of self-motivation.
