After School Youth Programs Assistant
Bethany Athletic Club, a premier athletic club in Portlands west side seeks aKids After School Program Assistant to join the Youth Programs team! The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising, nurturing, and caring for children from ages 5- 12 years old. This individual is expected to, among other things, pick the kids up from school & drive them back to the club, welcome children each day, engage in crafts and activities, and ensure the safety of all children.
Drivers License Required.
Must be 18+
Pay: $17.00- $17.50
Schedule:2:30pm - 6:00pm Monday - Friday (20 hours a week)
Shift: Part Time
Responsibilities:
Nurtures and cares for children between 1 and 12 years old.
Provides a clean, safe and fun child care environment
Ensures safe playing conditions and follows established security procedures
Observes specific parental directions for feeding, nap times and other special needs
Informs parents about the policies and procedures of Summer Camp and maintains a positive rapport with all parents
Develops and implements activities for the children on an ongoing basis
Treats children of minor injuries and completes incident reports as well as notifies parents, supervisors and club managers of any incidents
Perform general administrative tasks as needed such as taking attendance, editing internal paperwork, making phone calls, etc.
Maintains a clean work environment by performing janitorial duties as required or assigned including but not limited to body fluid cleanup, sanitizing areas and other light housekeeping
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Motivated with high level of energy, friendly demeanor, and strong work ethic
Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
Patience in working and dealing with children an customers on regular basis
A strong attention to detail, a high level of organization and a willing team player
CPR Child/Infant & First Aid Certification
