PROJECT ENGINEER Our client, a global leader in the building materials industry, is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for their Tennessee manufacturing facility (within commuting distance of the Knoxville-Chattanooga corridor).With approximately 150+ employees and strong long-term retention, this position is open due to internal advancement and offers excellent visibility and growth potential within the organization.Flexible work schedule option: 4x10s or 5x8s.Position SummaryResponsible for the design, development, and management of facility improvement and capital projects.This includes estimating costs, creating designs, managing contractors, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Provides engineering support to plant operations, addressing technical issues and recommending process and equipment improvements.Leads projects ranging from small repair initiatives to larger-scale capital upgrades.This position is open due to internal advancement and offers strong visibility and long-term growth potential within the organization.Principal Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop facility improvement and capital projectsPrepare project estimates, schedules, and documentationManage contractors and oversee construction processesProvide engineering support to plant operationsEnsure projects meet budget, timeline, and quality standardsConduct post-project reviews and share best practicesAssist with equipment and process implementationLeads capital and improvement projects ranging from small repairs to larger-scale plant upgradesRequirements & Preferred CompetenciesB.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering3-6 years in a manufacturing or industrial environmentDemonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skillsProject management exposure preferredStrong work ethic and hands-on approachMajor ChallengesManaging multiple projects simultaneouslyIdentifying and resolving engineering issues efficientlyMaintaining safety and environmental complianceCollaborating effectively with contractors and internal teamsDelivering projects within financial constraintsDecision Making AuthorityEvaluates and recommends facility and equipment improvementsOversees equipment installation and construction projectsSupports development and implementation of safety initiativesIf you're early in your engineering career and looking for a role where you can grow into larger capital responsibility, this could be an excellent next step.Message me directly for a confidential conversation.INSTRUCTIONSTo learn more or to apply, please directly email dhunter@fpctroy.com with your cover note and attach a resume in Microsoft Word or as a PDF.
