ResponsibilitiesMaterial Handler Job Description:Move merchandise and materials from shipment to production floor. Load and unload materials in warehouse and storage by transport equipment like cranes and forklifts.Deliver materials with accuracy according to paperwork. Prepare materials for shipping, such as weighing, packaging, and banding. Prepare shipment method according to shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Participate in routing, counting, and inspecting items while loading and unloading trucks.Prepare necessary shipping forms such as bills of lading.Resolve problems regarding shipping, receiving, and stock operations. Safe use of an overhead crane and forkliftSkillsSafety practices and record keeping.Physical ability to lift heavy packages and objects.Able to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment or any large vehicles in tight and congested areas.Basic knowledge of math and computers Communication skillsOverhead crane skillsAttention to detailAble to read a tape measure
