Winding Machine Operator

Job Title: Spiral Winding Machine Operator Position Overview: Operate and maintain a spiral winding machine that makes round tubes for various industrial and commercial uses. Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour Review Schedule: 90 days 6 months 1 year Potential Pay Increases are based on attendance, attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to produce quality work. Annual reviews after the first year. Shift Details: 1st Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM. Overtime (if required): Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and some Saturdays. Key Responsibilities: Load paper onto the machine, lifting up to 60 pounds. Set up and operate the machine, including: Changing and mixing glue.Installing new belts, mandrels, bushings, and blades. Adjusting glue application and tension devices. Thread paper ribbons through the machine. Adjust settings to ensure proper spacing and seam alignment. Set the cut-off equipment for the correct tube length. Operate multiple glue pots if needed. Install and use heaters and lubrication pots. Maintain the machine at the required speed for quality production. Other Job Functions Reads work order specifications to determine materials and set-up required to manufacture applicable part Retrieves a supply of required boxes and/or carts for finished products Is able to inspect all dimensions and request 2nd inspection as required Moves filled cases and/or carts to shipping or secondary process as required Keeps work area and equipment clean according to 5S principles
