POSITION TITLE: Manager - Health & Safety, Data Center OperationsLOCATION: Covington, GAFLSA CLASS: EXEMPTResponsible to: SR DIRECTOR HSQ & TrainingPosition Summary: VoltaGrid is seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional to support on-site safety execution at a Data center location in Covington, Georgia. This role is responsible for day-to-day safety performance and ensuring alignment with VoltaGrid’s safety expectations during initial construction and then ongoing operations. This position serves as the primary on-site safety point of contact, working closely with operations, contractors, and customer representatives to maintain a safe, compliant, and well-coordinated work environment. The role is hands-on, focused on field presence, engagement, and consistent execution.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesSite Health & Safety ExecutionSupport and oversee daily safety activities at the assigned data center siteConduct routine field observations, audits, and site walkthroughsEnsure compliance with VoltaGrid standards and site-specific safety requirementsProvide direct support and guidance to site personnel and supervisorsIdentify hazards and work with the team to implement practical mitigation measuresMonitor safety performance and address gaps in real timeSite Coordination & CommunicationServe as the primary safety contact for the assigned siteWork directly with customer representatives, contractors, and project teams on safety mattersParticipate in daily and weekly safety meetings, planning sessions, and site coordination callsCommunicate safety expectations clearly and consistently across all site personnelInitial Construction & Ongoing Operations SupportSupport safe execution of both construction and operational activities at the siteWork closely with construction managers, operations leaders, and contractorsEnsure safety requirements are understood and applied in daily work activitiesAssist with planning activities to ensure safety is integrated into work executionIncident Management & InvestigationsRespond to and support incident investigations at the siteParticipate in Root Cause Analysis processes, including Think Reliability methodsEnsure corrective actions are identified, implemented, and tracked to closureShare lessons learned with site teams to prevent recurrenceContractor Engagement (Construction Phase)Work directly with contractors and subcontractors to reinforce safety expectationsSupport review and understanding of site safety plans and work practicesMonitor contractor safety performance and provide feedback as neededEnsure consistent reporting of incidents and safety metricsRegulatory & Compliance SupportSupport compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and site requirementsAssist with audits, inspections, and customer safety reviewsMaintain accurate safety documentation and reporting for the siteOther Requirements5–10 years of experience in construction safety, industrial safety, or related fieldExperience supporting large-scale construction or industrial projectsStrong knowledge of field safety practices and hazard recognitionExperience participating in incident investigations and root cause analysisAbility to work effectively with field teams, contractors, and customersStrong communication and organizational skillsOther Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldProfessional certifications such as CSP preferred (BSCP certifications a plus)Experience supporting data center or critical infrastructure projectsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
