IT Security Analyst

OverviewDMS, a BRMi company, is searching for a junior to mid-level IT Security Analyst to support enterprise security to identify, analyze, and develop solutions for perceived or found system weaknesses to prevent cyberattacks. Additional responsibilities include developing and supporting system security plans (SSP), reviewing systems security postures, and developing additional security controls to further harden systems. The respondent must be able to communicate information effectively with technical and non-technical staff.This position is hybrid in Frederick MD 2-3 days per week.Responsibilities Expertise in multiple security applications and the ability to learn new applications as the security environment evolves. Analyzing data across many different applications and enterprise environments. Creating and submitting reports to relevant parties to assist in their understanding for the environment. Assisting in business goals to various departments while keeping a security minded posture. Vulnerability management and understanding. Support internal Security Team and other stakeholders in vulnerability and incident response efforts; provide timely response to escalated incidents. Malware Analysis and the ability to understand common threat practices. Possess the ability to understand common attacks and how they are utilized to better defend against them. Assist with support tickets to complete tasks that have been assigned to the organization. Develop solutions at an enterprise level to better enhance security posture. Create solutions to remediate vulnerabilities throughout the environment programmatically. Prioritize and respond to help desk tickets, phone calls, and emails as appropriate. Assist other teams in resolving security-related issues. Plan and implement security controls, agent installations, OS and application patches, and maintenance fixes. Monitor baseline configuration changes, ensuring they are promptly documented. Develop and maintain training materials and documentation concerning system hardening procedures, system security plans, and other IT standard operational procedures. Other duties as required. Qualifications Certification(s), Degree(s), and/or completed course work in the field of cybersecurity. Minimum two (2) years of experience supporting IT systems in an enterprise IT environment with defined security controls, processes, and procedures. Minimum two (2) years of experience supporting configuration and maintenance of desktop operating systems (Windows & Mac). Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. Preferred Associate or Bachelor’s degree with IT security focus. Working knowledge of the following: Ubuntu, macOS, Windows Desktop and Server OS’, IIS, Active Directory, BigFix, Tenable Security Center, JAMF, VMWare, Azure, Cylance, BitLocker, File Vault, scripting with PowerShell or Shell script. Working knowledge of FISMA and standards and guidelines developed by NIST Experience using FIPS 199 for system security categorization, as well as developing system security plans following NIST SP 800-53 Experience with X.509 certificates Experience with system hardening and GPO management Familiarity with TCP/IP v4 and v6, and operating system configuration. Proven knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies. Personal Attributes Good written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with attention to detail.
