JOB DESCRIPTIONWrong Way Detection Sensor Replacement EngineerProject:Wrong Way Detection Sensor Replacement & InstallationEngineer Required: Electronic Security Systems Engineer Access Control IntegrationWork Location: South Carolina 29152, USAEngagement: Project-Based Onsite SupportExperience: 5+ years preferred in security systems, radar/detection systems, access control, low-voltage systems, or similar field installationsRequirement SummaryWe are seeking an experienced onsite engineer/technician to support the replacement and installation of an existing Wrong Way Detection System at three work sites - Access Control Points.The existing detection sensors will be removed and replaced with an upgraded TAPCO-based radar detection solution. Existing infrastructure such as conduit, wiring, mounting locations, control systems, and annunciation interfaces will be retained. No trenching, excavation, new conduit installation, or major system redesign is required.Scope of WorkThe engineer will be responsible for onsite installation activities, including removal of existing detection sensors, installation of the new replacement equipment, connection to existing infrastructure, and supporting system integration and functional testing.The engineer must coordinate onsite activities to minimize disruption to active gate operations and ensure that existing wiring, conduit, mounting infrastructure, and other equipment are not damaged during installation.Technical Details3 × TAPCO 2180-SYSTEM Sensor Replacement Packages6 × Axis D2210-VE Radar Assemblies, including 150-ft cables, brackets, and associated 2-conductor cabling3 × ControlByWeb X-410-I Ethernet I/O Modules3 × SS400 Remote Radar Kits with universal bracketsAssociated cabling, mounting, and interface componentsEngineer ResponsibilitiesInspect the existing wrong-way detection system, wiring, conduit, mounting points, and control/interface connections at all three gate locations.Disconnect, remove, and safely dispose of the existing detection sensors/components being replaced.Install and securely mount the new Axis D2210-VE radar assemblies and SS400 Remote Radar Kits.Install associated brackets, cables, and accessories using the existing conduit and infrastructure.Perform required low-voltage wiring, cable termination, power connections, relay/I/O connections, and Ethernet connections.Connect and integrate the new detection equipment with the existing control and annunciation system, including required I/O/interface connections, so the system can properly transmit detection signals and activate the existing audible and visual alerts.Verify all physical, electrical, communication, and interface connections and troubleshoot any installation-related issues.Perform/support functional testing of all installed sensors and ensure the system is ready for operation.Coordinate with the TAPCO technical personnel for final onsite commissioning, resolve any installation-related issues identified, and support final system verification/acceptance.The completed installation must support the existing system's ability to detect wrong-way entry and communicate with the existing control/interface equipment responsible for audible and visual gate-house alerts.Required Qualifications5+ years of relevant field experience preferred.Experience with low-voltage and/or security system installation.Experience with radar, vehicle detection, access control, or perimeter security systems preferred.Knowledge of electrical/electronic control panels, relay and I/O interfaces, and Ethernet-connected field equipment.Experience with cable routing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, manufacturer installation manuals, and existing system documentation.Ability to use standard electrical/electronic and low-voltage testing tools.Ability to work independently and coordinate with remote/on-site technical teams.Expected DeliverablesExisting sensors removed/disconnected as required.Replacement equipment securely installed and connected.Existing infrastructure left undamaged.All installation-related connections verified.Work areas cleaned and restored.System ready for TAPCO final commissioning and functional acceptance testing.
