Yard DriverIndividuals in this position will be responsible for using a Quaker semi-tractor trailer to transport materials and product between Quaker docks at campuses located in Maries, Osage and Miller Counties in Missouri.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafe operation of combination tractor-trailer to transport material and products between Quaker campusesDetermine where delivery needs to be unloadedSafely sort through multiple products that may be intermingled in a single loadUtilize reports or data in the Yard Management System (YMS)Interact with YMS with company provided tabletsComplete Spotting Operations: Providing empty and loaded trailer movement to and from parking lots and docks as requested in the YMS systemPrompt and regular attendance at an assigned work locationInteract and communicate with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.Availability on site to confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basisCommunicate via email, update reports and delivery schedulesReview and analyze data and delivery information concerningPlan, prioritize and monitor short haul activitiesComplete assigned tasks/projects in a timely mannerSupervisory ResponsibilityNo direct management or supervisory responsibilities.SafetyObserve safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment); report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly. Follow job-specific safety requirements such as Safe Lift The individual must follow all safe driving laws.TravelDaily travel is required.QualificationsFunctional in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook and mobile technologyValid Class A - CDL driver's license & a safe driving recordIn the last 5 years, no convictions of any offense involving the operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugsIn the last 5 years, no more than 2 chargeable or preventable motor vehicle accidentsIn the last 2 years, no more than 3 violations of motor vehicle laws, excludes parking violationsMust be able to use navigation toolsMust have good knowledge of Quaker campusDriver applicants must provide written disclosures as to their accidents and convictions to verify the items listed. Written disclosures must be provided to Quaker's DOT Compliance Administrator.Preferred Education and ExperienceHigh School diploma or successful GED - General Educational Development preferred2 years verifiable driving experience, or proof of driving skills based on a Quaker-facilitated Road TestPosition Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Physical Demandsregularly lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundswork shifts of at least 8-10 hours for 5 days each weeksit, bend, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as necessaryVision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.It is an essential job function and safety rule, applicable to every employee working in a safety sensitive classified position, to be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to climactic variations, fumes or airborne particles, various levels of vibration, and moving mechanical parts. Various types of Personal Protective Equipment might be required based on the employee's work location.
