To learn more about our agency or view career opportunities, visit our website: https://www.mshsak.org/Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health, the Behavioral Health Clinical Manager will provide clinical leadership and decision-making authority in the absence of the Director of Behavioral Health. This role will also serve as a key trainer, responsible for onboarding, mentoring, and providing clinical supervision to new and existing clinicians. The incumbent ensures clinical excellence across the department and fosters an environment of continuous improvement, aligned with agency standards and goals.Essential FunctionsThis position requires compliance with MSHS’ compliance standards, including the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures.Collaborate with the Director of Behavioral Health to develop, implement, and monitor clinical programs and serve as the primary clinical decision-maker in the absence of the director.Oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinical team, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and standards.Demonstrates ability to provide individual, family, and group therapies and maintain a limited caseload. Provides clinical supervision and case consultation. May work toward achieving credentialing in Clinical Supervision as needed. Serves as chair and organizes the weekly clinician meeting agenda, minutes, and follow-up. Participate in compliance with clinical practice guidelines and development of models of best practice for each clinical component of the organization. Works closely with the Practice Manager to maintain clinician schedules, transfers, and quick access to services.Work closely with the Rehab Services Coordinator to monitor referrals for rehab services and the clinician/case manager partnership. Manages PES Grant and Intake Program to monitor daytime coverage for crisis, quick access to services, and after-hours on-call schedule. Participates in the utilization management system that ensures all services are medically necessary and are provided in an array and quantity that meets the needs of the client. Develop training materials and workshops for clinical staff, enhancing therapeutic skills, crisis management, and client-centered care. Provides orientation and training for intake assessments, treatment planning, and other clinical processes, as needed.Facilitates organizational efficiency among and between programs by ensuring compliance by all clinical staff with performance standards regarding: productivity, paperwork submission, and other standards as they are developed. Assists with agency compliance process and accreditation standards. Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesKnowledge of and experience with the delivery of community mental health services and related regulatory requirements.Thorough knowledge of clinical issues related to serving seriously emotionally disturbed children and adolescents and chronically mentally ill adults. Knowledge of substance abuse treatment, with emphasis on co-occurring disorders.Ability to develop and implement mental health programs and services in collaboration with other community-based organizations and agencies. Ability to develop and implement clinical processes and systems that achieve sound clinical outcomes, comply with system performance measures, and result in generally positive measures of client satisfaction. Ability to support and lead systemic change, including an in-depth understanding of the change management process.Ability to effectively partner with multiple departments in the provision of integrated services.Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and develop a sense of cohesiveness and “team” among supervisees and other departments.Ability to cultivate mindfulness towards the Agency mission, vision, and values in supervisees. Experience providing behavioral health and psycho-social rehabilitation services in a community agency setting.Experience with program development, and measuring client outcomes within an integrated system of primary care and behavioral health.Preferred to have 5 years of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Advanced credentials or certification in clinical supervision and/or substance abuse treatment preferred.Have general knowledge of EMR/EHR software and Microsoft Office programsGeneral RequirementsClear background check (subject to DHSS background check)Current tuberculosis screening test resultCurrent driver’s license; clean driving record historyCPR certification must be obtained within two weeks of hire. CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification must be obtained when offered through the agency; it may substitute the current MANDT certificate for CPI.
