602 - Blade Repair Technician (Tech 2)- Full-Time/WIND Travel Techs
Position Summary: Apave America Inc is seeking a Blade Repair Technician (Tech 2) to perform maintenance and repairs on wind turbine blades, contributing to the operational efficiency and longevity of turbine components. This role requires proficiency in composite repair techniques and a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Position may require travel to job sites on an as needed basis. This position requires 100% travel.Key Responsibilities:Blade Inspections and RepairsConduct visual inspections of wind turbine blades to identify damage, wear, or other maintenance needsExecute repair tasks such as sanding, filling, laminating, patching, finishing, and Leading-Edge Protection (LEP)Safety and ComplianceAdhere to all company and industry standards, including maintaining proper PPE and following fall protection protocolsConduct and assist with Job Site Analysis (JSA) and hazard assessments on-siteIdentify and mitigate risks associated with blade repair workTeamwork and DevelopmentWork closely with Tech 3 leaders to ensure work is completed on schedule and meets quality standardsAssist in training and mentoring Tech 1 technicians on basic tasks and safety protocolsAct as a reliable team member, contributing to the success of the projectParticipate in ongoing training to improve technical skills and advance in certification levelsDocumentation and ReportingDocument repair work, including the use of resins, materials, and equipmentProvide detailed reports of inspections and repair tasks to supervisorsMaintain logs for personal and team certifications, equipment use, and blade condition dataQualifications, Experience and Requirements:Qualifications and SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent is requiredMust be at a minimum of eighteen (18) years of ageMinimum of two (2) years of experience in wind turbine blade repair or composite repair is requiredIRATA and or SPRAT Rope Access certification(s) considered a strong assetProficiency in intermediate repair proceduresStrong background in use of suspended platformsGlobal Wind Organization -
