The approach at our treatment centers is firmly rooted in individualized, person-centered care to help clients uncover the why behind their disorders and help them build foundational relationships that help answer the how in moving forwardPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for the health and safety of all clients. This position assesses and prescribes appropriate medications as well as assess medical and psychiatric issues/ concerns and makes appropriate referrals. This position consults with the treatment team on primary diagnosis and co-occurring issues.Relationships and ContactsWithin the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout STR Behavioral Health and affiliated facilities.Outside the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary.Position ResponsibilitiesMaintaining a safe and secure environmentHelp Clients by providing information, services, and assistancePrescribe Detoxification medication regimens that are safe, appropriate, and effective for clients with substance use disorderRoutine checkups and Medication checks for clients in servicesConducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions.Prescribe medications as necessary and check on the efficacy of medication regimenDocument clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendationsPre-screen and approve potential clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admissionOrder Lab work and UAs as neededComplete Psychiatric Evaluations for every admitting clientComplete physical for every admitting clientMake referrals to specialist as neededOrder and administer Vivitrol as neededConsult with the treatment teamComplete progress notes as neededSupport Nursing staff.Minimum RequirementsEducation and ExperienceCertified in the state of Pennsylvania as a CRNP or Physician's Assistant. A minimum of 2 years' experience in Detoxification and/or Residential Setting, preferably in substance abuse or mental health. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A willingness to work with a clinical team to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients. Willingness to take calls during afterhours days and times.All necessary requirements must be met to practice adult psychiatry in Pennsylvania.Additional RequirementsPosition requires incumbent to have a valid driver's licenseClearance of TB test, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.Current CPR and First Aid certification.Skill CompetenciesWork Standards - Sets high standards of performance for self; assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.Communicating Effectively - Conveys information and ideas in a professional, clear, and timely manner; providing information to ensure understanding; soliciting input from the others during the communication.
