Tree Planting Technician

If you're dedicated, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to our mission, we invite you to join us in enhancing landscapes with A Plus Tree.ResponsibilitiesAdapt to various different work tasks depending on the needs of the day, as tasks may change.Fulfill duties associated with working at A Plus, including adhering to a somewhat variable yet full-time schedule.Serve as a field foreman, on some days managing the crew to achieve final product outcomes and production goals.During Planting SeasonPlant trees to a high standard, ensuring meticulous root preparation and impeccable final appearance.Collaborate closely with the crew leader and fellow crew members to execute all tasks associated with the job, such as loading and unloading trees, maintaining tools and equipment, conducting cleanup activities, and making necessary corrections to planted trees.Maintain detailed records of planting activities using spreadsheets and Arbor Plus.During Establishment SeasonOperate a water truck to water a significant number of trees throughout the city on a daily basis.Perform upkeep tasks and conduct maintenance activities on trees, including but not limited to weeding, re-staking, and mulching.Maintain accurate records of watering visits and monitor tree health, documenting any issues such as damage or disease.QualificationsAbility to efficiently plant trees to a high standard, including root preparation and final appearance.Understand the specifications from contractors and Best Management Practices (BMPs) for planting trees.Competency with plant care, including some familiarity with watering, soil, roots, etc.Physically able to perform hard, heavy work, with attention to detail and care of fragile plant material, including cleanup.Ability to drive a large truck and long trailer (not CDL).Ability to use software, including Google Sheets, Arbor Plus, etc., for data interpretation and entry.Ability to lift 75 or more poundsAt least 18 years of agePay depends on experience.BenefitsHealth insurance, Dental insurance, Life insurance, Paid Sick Leave, Vision insurance, 401(k).A Plus Tree provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation, and training.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
