Meyer Utility Structures is searching for a Production Supervisor for our Gadsden, AL plant. The production supervisor will oversee multiple activities simultaneously and take ownership of the output from employees working on the team. The supervisor is also responsible for exhibiting a strong working knowledge of all machinery, equipment, and processes. The Production Supervisor will manage their departments and work to achieve plant goals while maintaining a high safety, quality and productivity standard.Meyer Utility Structures is a proud subsidiary of the infrastructure company, Arcosa, Inc. Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications.What You’ll DoEnsure employees follow all safety procedures and protocols, serve on safety committees, and complete regular safety auditsManage daily production operations of heavy industrial products for assigned work groupSet production schedules based on production introduction, equipment efficiency, and quality metricsCoach employees on work quality and quantity such as fit-up and welding processes, ensuring goals are met and solving issues as they arise and are identifiedEnsure the production of sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costAssist in continuous improvement activities to improve the movement of materials through various production processesManage hourly employees, monitor and approve time sheets and work logsAssign employees to workstations and ensure proper training is completedManage all aspects of fit up and welding processes for assigned work groups and production bays, ensuring that production policies and procedures are strictly adhered to by all employeesWhat You’ll NeedBachelor’s degree in engineering (any discipline) preferred5+ years of successful leadership experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environmentExperience in a metal fabrication or welding facility, specifically with flux and metal core welding is highly preferredThorough knowledge of blueprints and layouts preferably related to transmission polesHigh degree of dependability, maturity, and strong leadership characteristics as demonstrated through previous professional work experienceRegular and predictable attendance, a great attitude and an ability to work well with a team toward achieving a common goalMUS276
