Construction Project Manager

Role summary / purposeThis position assists in the overall management of assigned projects, to ensure compliance within required budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. Employees in this role support construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. This is an office-based role that can incorporate travel on an as-needed basis.Key responsibilitiesAssess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on assigned projectsParticipate in walk downs of planned work and validate acceptance of completed work to design requirementsReview contractor payment requests and verify constructabilityEnsure proper resource allocation, assess field status, and resolve issues as neededCoordinate project activities with vendors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, local community officials, and the companyAssist in scope control, budget oversight, resolution of technical issues, performance reporting, scheduling, and work-in-progressInterface with landowners, local regulators, and state agenciesReinforce expectations related to safety, procedure compliance, lessons learned, corrective action, and appropriate work behaviorsCoordinate activities across safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, analytics, and contract administrationInterface with the project's designated management committeePerform other job-related duties as assignedRequirements - education & experienceA bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Land Surveying, or a related field is required. 6 - 10 years of experience managing project execution, including vendor and contractor coordination, is required.Required skillsStrong organizational skillsExcellent communication abilitiesProficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project or SmartsheetFamiliarity with project management toolsExperience in the construction/renewables industryDemonstrated experience in project managementExperience interfacing with a wide variety of stakeholders across multiple disciplinesNice-to-have / preferred skillsPMP certificationEmployment details - type, location, hoursTravel to project sites as required (up to 25%).Impellam Group and its brands are equal-opportunity employers committed to diversity and inclusion.
