Analysis Engineering Intern
Your Challenge Assist in preparing formal Design Reports, structural calculation packages, and technical evaluations for safety-related nuclear power plant components. Perform structural, stress, and fatigue analyses for components subjected to internal/external pressure, seismic events, thermal transients, operating dynamics, and external nozzle/piping loads. Utilize ANSYS to construct finite element models, apply boundary conditions, run simulations, and post-process stress results. Review, interrogate, and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks to ensure analytical accuracy and design feasibility. Interface directly with the design engineering team to propose geometry modifications, material considerations, and structural enhancements that satisfy customer specifications and regulatory codes (e.g., ASME Section III / BPVC).Verify numerical models using classical closed-form hand calculations and engineering fundamentals.
Your Skills
