Haynes’ vision for school leadership that ensures strong, equitable academic outcomes across all campuses, and serve as the primary coach and accountability partner for the elementary, middle, and high school principals. This 12-month, full-time role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and works in close partnership with academic, talent, and operations leaders to ensure alignment between strategy and execution. You will be instrumental in developing principal capacity, supporting implementation of core instructional systems (including data-driven instruction, observation and feedback, and collaborative planning), and ensuring consistent implementation of the Haynes academic vision across schools. Through regular school visits, data analysis, and leadership coaching, you will translate vision into practice—building leaders who operate with urgency, ownership, and clarity, and ensuring that every secondary campus reflects a rigorous, STEAM-aligned learning environment in service of Haynes 3.0.Drive Academic Vision & Instructional Coherence.You will partner with the Senior Academic Leadership Team (SALT) to translate the Haynes academic vision into consistent, high-quality instructional practice across PK–12, ensuring that every student experiences rigorous, equitable, and engaging learning aligned to our STEAM+ priorities. Through clear expectations, aligned systems, and ongoing monitoring, you will ensure that “what excellent looks like” is not aspirational—but observable in every classroom.As a member of the Senior Academic Leadership Team (SALT), help design and refine a PK–12 academic vision that defines excellence in instruction, student experience, and outcomes across all campuses.Manage and coach school principals to ensure consistent implementation of the PK–12 academic vision and hold them accountable for achieving defined outcomes.Support strong implementation of core instructional systems, including data-driven instruction, observation and feedback, and collaborative planning;Partner with SALT to establish clear, consistent expectations for teaching and learning that are vertically aligned from PK3 through grade 12;Monitor academic progress through regular data analysis, school visits, and instructional walkthroughs, and adjust strategy to accelerate student outcomes;Partner with senior academic leaders to ensure curriculum fidelity, rigor, and alignment to standards and Haynes 3.0 priorities; andReinforce a culture of high expectations with high support, ensuring that academic rigor and belonging coexist in every classroom.Develop & Manage School Leaders.You will serve as the primary coach and accountability partner for principals, building their capacity to lead strong instructional programs, manage high-performing teams, and deliver measurable results for students.Directly manage and coach PK–12 principals through regular 1:1s, school visits, and targeted feedback cycles;Build principals’ instructional leadership capacity, including their ability to lead data meetings, coach teachers, and drive improvements in teaching and learning;Set clear performance goals aligned to student outcomes, and hold principals accountable through consistent progress monitoring and evaluation;Differentiate support based on leader experience and need, ensuring both development and accountability;Identify leadership pipeline needs and partner with Talent to recruit, develop, and retain strong school leaders; andFoster a leadership culture grounded in ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement.Ensure Cross-Campus Alignment.You will support coherence across campuses by aligning systems, expectations, and leadership practices—ensuring that students and staff experience a unified, high-quality model regardless of grade level or campus.As a member of SALT, support alignment of PK–12 academic systems, priorities, and calendars to ensure consistency and continuity in the student experience;Facilitate collaboration across principals to share best practices, problem-solve challenges, and build collective ownership of outcomes;Identify and address variability in implementation or outcomes across campuses, ensuring alignment to a common bar of excellence;Partner with central teams (Talent, Operations, External Relations) to ensure school needs are met in service of academic priorities; andLead cross-campus initiatives that strengthen vertical alignment and reinforce the “One Haynes” vision.Lead Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement.You will play a critical role in translating organizational priorities into executable school-level strategy, ensuring that Haynes 3.0 is realized through disciplined planning and strong execution.Support the development and execution of school and network-wide strategic plans aligned to Haynes 3.0 and STEAM+ priorities;Use data and feedback to identify trends, diagnose root causes, and implement targeted improvement strategies;Ensure that principals effectively align time, resources, and staffing to priority goals;Partner with senior leadership to refine academic strategy and ensure strong implementation across PK–12; andBuild systems for ongoing reflection, iteration, and continuous improvement at both the school and network level.Engage & Represent the Academic Vision.You Will Serve As a Visible Leader Of The Academic Program, Engaging Internal And External Stakeholders To Build Understanding, Alignment, And Support For The Haynes Instructional Model. You Will Support The CEO WithCommunicating academic priorities, progress, and outcomes clearly to staff, families, and the broader community;Preparing principals to lead strong family engagement aligned to academic goals and student success;Partnering with External Relations to ensure consistent messaging around academic excellence, innovation, and STEAM+;Contributing to Board engagement by supporting academic updates, reporting, and strategic discussions; andRepresenting the organization in external spaces as needed, reinforcing Haynes’ commitment to equity, rigor, and extraordinary outcomes for all students.QualificationsYou have:8–12 years of school leadership experience in education, with significant experience as a principal/head of school.A strong track record of improving student achievement and driving measurable academic outcomes, particularly for historically underserved student populations;Deep expertise in the core levers of instructional improvement, including data-driven instruction, observation and feedback, and collaborative planning;Demonstrated success coaching and developing adult leaders, with the ability to both support and hold others accountable to a high bar for performance;Commitment to the E.L. Haynes Public Charter School mission and core values, with a clear alignment to advancing equity and excellence for all students;Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, direct feedback and influence stakeholders at all levels;Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and ensure disciplined execution across multiple campuses or teams;Experience building and managing systems that drive consistency, coherence, and continuous improvement across teams or schools;Demonstrated ability to identify and disrupt inequities in systems and outcomes, and to lead with an equity-centered, inclusive mindset;High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment;Comfort with data analysis and progress monitoring, including the ability to interpret student achievement data and adjust strategy accordingly;Experience working independently toward ambitious goals while collaborating effectively across teams and engaging in 360-degree feedback; andProficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.You Might Also HaveAn advanced degree in a relevant field;Previous experience working in charter schools; and Oral and/or written proficiency in Spanish.
