SUMMARY
Perform wiring and assembly operations involving intricate and precise electrical assemblies having strict inspection requirements and critical operational tolerances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist in product research and development by collecting data for engineering applications and incorporation of design changes.
Conduct machine wiring processes including installation of wire ways; wiring of operator control panels; and mounting of components and boxes.
Complete panel wiring by mounting components; cutting and mounting din rails and wire ducts; selecting and running wire; mounting panel to enclosure; and interconnecting main panels.
Robotic programming/integration.
Support Service Department by testing and repairing customer and purchased parts or modifying purchased parts to meet customer needs.
Mechanically fabricate, modify and attach small mechanical components using your own hand and power tools.
Complete sub-assemblies by assembling junction boxes and panels, components and operator stations. Wire components, operator stations and tie in components to junction boxes.
Work with engineering to improve product lines.
Troubleshoot circuits.
Prepare machine for shipment including electrical dismantling of components.
Perform electrical plant maintenance (plant wiring and machine tool repairs) as well as electrical repair of small power tools.
Prepare machine for start up and test by visually inspecting wiring; applying proper power; checking inputs and outputs; rotating machine and performing quality control measures.
Communicate solutions, participate in on-the-job (OTJ) training, compile documentation, complete Engineering Change Requests (ECR's), etc.
Maintain quality of machine and components while assembling. Adhere to electrical assembly standards. Inform supervision of progress and specific needs. Maintain accuracy of assembly work instructions. Maintain company facilities and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, electrical schematics and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Equipment needed to successfully perform duties for this position are:
Mechanical hand tools, electrical power tools, and measuring instruments. May be required to operate an overhead crane and forklift. Need to provide own tools.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus at least one year certificate from college or technical school in related trades field; six plus months related trades job experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
