Python AI Developer – Arlington, VirginiaLocation: Arlington, VAContract: 6 MonthsSecurity Clearance: Active Secret Clearance RequiredWe are seeking an experienced Python AI Developer to join a technical team supporting the development and deployment of intelligent, data-driven applications.You will be responsible for taking AI and machine learning concepts from development through to production. This includes developing robust Python applications, integrating Machine Learning, NLP and Large Language Models (LLMs), building APIs and microservices, and supporting scalable AI solutions in a production environment.The successful candidate will have a strong software engineering background combined with practical experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and deploy AI-powered applications and services using PythonIntegrate Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs) into production applicationsDevelop clean, scalable and maintainable Python codeBuild and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using frameworks such as FastAPI or FlaskDevelop data processing pipelines and integrate AI/ML models into existing applicationsWork with data scientists and AI engineers to move models from development into productionContainerize applications using DockerDeploy and manage applications within Kubernetes environmentsTroubleshoot, optimize and improve the performance of AI applicationsMonitor production systems and identify opportunities for improvementsImplement software development best practices including testing, version control, documentation and code reviewsWork closely with engineering, data science and product teams to understand requirements and deliver technical solutionsSupport the design of scalable architectures for AI and data-driven applicationsRequired Experience & SkillsStrong professional experience developing applications using PythonHands-on experience with AI, Machine Learning, NLP and/or LLM technologiesExperience integrating AI/ML models into production softwareStrong experience developing REST APIs and microservicesExperience with FastAPI, Flask or similar Python frameworksExperience with Docker and KubernetesUnderstanding of software engineering principles, testing and application architectureExperience working with data processing and AI/ML pipelinesAbility to work with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Software Engineers and Product teamsStrong problem-solving and communication skillsActive Secret Security Clearance is requiredDesirable ExperienceExperience working with Generative AI and LLM applicationsExperience with AI agents or agentic workflowsExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or OCIExperience with CI/CD and DevOps practicesExperience with databases, data pipelines and distributed systemsFamiliarity with modern AI/ML frameworks and tooling
