Temporary Warehouse Operator

Job Description The Temporary Warehouse & Logistics Operator is responsible for the efficient receipt, handling, storage, and dispatch of products and materials. This role ensures accurate inventory control, supports logistics operations, and maintains a safe, organized warehouse environment that contributes to an effective supply chain.Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse OperationsReceive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery documents.Pick, pack, and prepare materials and products for shipment according to orders and internal requirements.Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) in a safe and compliant manner.Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety across all warehouse zones.Inventory ManagementUpdate stock movements, adjustments, and locations within the warehouse system.Conduct cycle counts and support full physical inventory audits.Report discrepancies, damages, or stock shortages promptly.Logistics CoordinationPrepare shipping labels, paperwork, and documentation for outbound shipments.Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles.Communicate with carriers, logistics partners, and internal teams to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.Health & SafetyAdhere to all workplace safety guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements.Use proper PPE and report hazards or incidents immediately.Participate in safety training and contribute to a safe working environment.Continuous ImprovementSuggest and support initiatives for process optimization and cost reduction.Skills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced, timesensitive environment.Basic computer literacy.Reliable, adaptable, and safetyminded.Qualifications & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent.13 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations (preferred).Valid forklift certification (preferred).Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 812 hours per shift).Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull loads up to 50 lbs (23 kg); heavier items handled with assistance or equipment.Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, and repetitive movement.Ability to climb ladders and access elevated storage locations when required.Manual dexterity for handling packages, scanning items, and operating warehouse tools.Visual and auditory ability to read labels, follow instructions, and identify potential hazards.Work EnvironmentWarehouse with exposure to seasonal temperature changes.Regular exposure to forklift traffic and machinery noise.Work areas such as loading docks, storage aisles, and shipping/receiving zones.Occasional outdoor activity when working with carriers or loading/unloading.Exposure to dust, packaging materials, and moving equipment; strict adherence to safety protocols required.Mandatory use of PPE such as safety shoes.
