Job Description Sorting Associate – Warehouse / Food DistributionPay Rate: $17.00/hrSchedule: Tuesday – Saturday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PMJob OverviewWe are seeking a dependable Sorting Associate to support a fast-paced warehouse and food distribution operation. This role plays a critical part in receiving, sorting, and organizing donated food and household products that are distributed to community partners. The environment is highly interactive and community-focused, with daily collaboration alongside corporate and individual volunteers.Key ResponsibilitiesSort, inspect, and organize donated products (including shelf-stable food, beverages, and household goods) as they arrive at the warehouseSeparate and stage products based on distribution orders and warehouse organization standardsWork closely with volunteers, providing guidance and instruction on proper sorting and handling proceduresSupport shipping and receiving operations, including unloading deliveries and preparing outgoing ordersMaintain a clean, organized, and safe production/warehouse environmentOperate warehouse equipment such as electric hand pallet jacks (preferred); forklift operation is a plusAssist with general warehouse organization and inventory flow as neededRequired Experience & Qualifications1–3 years of warehouse experience, preferably in shipping & receiving or distributionPrior experience working in a production or sorting environmentComfortable interacting with the public and working side-by-side with volunteers dailyStrong communication skills and ability to give clear directionAbility to lift, stand, and move throughout the shift in a production settingElectric pallet jack experience preferredForklift certification is a plusWhat to ExpectHands-on role with meaningful impact in a community-focused operationCollaborative work environment with rotating volunteer groupsConsistent schedule with daytime hoursPhysically active warehouse/production setting
