This role is responsible for managing client relationships, reviewing complex tax returns, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring staff.The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax expertise, leadership skills, and a client-first mindset. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys helping clients navigate complex financial decisions.What You’ll DoManage and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-corporations, and C-corporationsBuild and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted tax advisorProvide strategic tax planning guidance and identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencyOversee tax planning and consulting engagements to help minimize client tax liabilitiesEnsure compliance with applicable federal and state tax laws and regulationsServe as the primary point of contact for clients on tax-related mattersMaintain strict client confidentiality and professional standardsSupervise, train, and mentor tax staff and senior accountantsReview and improve internal tax processes for efficiency and accuracyResearch complex tax issues and provide clear, actionable recommendationsCoordinate with auditors, regulatory agencies, and external parties as neededMonitor changes in tax legislation and communicate impacts to clients and team membersSupport business development initiatives through networking and proposal assistanceRequired QualificationsCertified Public Accountant (CPA) license requiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required (Master’s preferred)5+ years of public accounting experience with a strong focus on taxStrong knowledge of federal and state tax regulationsProven leadership and team management experienceExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in tax and accounting software such as ProSystem fxCompensation, Benefits & MoreCompensation$110,000 - $145,000 annuallyBonus opportunities availableBenefitsPaid time off, sick days, and vacation timeHealth insuranceDental insuranceRetirement benefitsLong-term disability insuranceTuition reimbursementExtended Illness benefit for short-term disabilitiesSummer schedule with additional paid time off beyond PTO accrualsScheduleMonday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMExtended hours during tax season (60+ hours expected)Job TypeFull-timeLocationAberdeen, South Dakota
