A2A Security is expanding its operations in San Francisco, CA, and is seeking a dedicated and professional Security Supervisor to join our team. Role Overview: As a Security Supervisor, you will initially work as a security guard while gradually transitioning into a full-time managerial role as we expand our sites. This position requires a commitment to completing the necessary training for a PPO license, which is essential for your advancement within the company. If you already possess a PPO license, that will be considered a significant advantage. Key Responsibilities: - Provide a professional and visible security presence at assigned locations. - Oversee daily security operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations. - Manage access control and monitor surveillance systems. - Respond to incidents and emergencies promptly and effectively. - Assist in training and mentoring junior security staff. - Draft incident reports and maintain accurate records of activities. - Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment. Requirements: - A valid California Security Guard License is required. - Willingness to complete the necessary course for obtaining a PPO license. - Previous experience in a supervisory or security role is preferred. - Strong communication and leadership skills. - Dependability, punctuality, and professionalism are essential. - Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily security operations, including patrolling premises and monitoring surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras. Manage access control systems to regulate entry and exit of employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors. Conduct thorough background checks on prospective employees or vendors as part of the screening process. Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies by executing established emergency response procedures, including fire drills, evacuations, or medical emergencies. Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or suspicious activities for review and follow-up. Perform physical security duties such as heavy lifting, manual handling, and maintaining perimeter integrity through regular patrols. Utilize law enforcement knowledge and conflict management skills to de-escalate disputes or confrontations effectively. Operate specialized equipment like Taser devices, firearms (where legally permitted), AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and perform CPR or first aid when necessary. Enforce compliance with security regulations and company policies while providing exceptional customer service to visitors and staff. Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies during investigations or incidents requiring external assistance. Qualifications Proven experience in security roles with a strong understanding of physical security practices and surveillance technology. Military background or law enforcement experience is highly desirable for leadership capabilities and emergency response expertise. Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, Taser use, firearm handling (if applicable), and conflict de-escalation are preferred. Knowledge of access control systems, CCTV monitoring, loss prevention techniques, and incident report writing. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while maintaining alertness during long shifts. Strong communication skills with the ability to manage conflict management situations professionally. Familiarity with emergency response procedures including fire safety protocols and compliance with security regulations. Demonstrated ability to perform background checks accurately and maintain confidentiality at all times.
