Suchqualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.REPORTS TO: Principal and Director of Student ServicesSUPERVISES: N/AJOB GOAL: To establish, maintain and enhance a school counseling program addressing academicachievement, career planning and social/emotional developmentPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:1 Plan and implement a comprehensive school counseling program based on the ASCA standards2 Provide or facilitate access to services necessary for students' academic, social, and emotional success3 Implement a comprehensive career development program for all student4 Manage and monitor all students' progress toward yearly academic promotion5 Provide classroom-based instruction to students6 Monitor students' attendance, and intervene as needed7 Provide small group and individual counseling and activities as needed8 Complete necessary reports for school, county, and state review9 Manage all aspects of the registration and transfer process for students10 Maintain and update student files11 Responsible for all aspects of the management and yearly updates of student records yearly, and ensures compliance with local and stateregulations regarding student records12 Manage and develop 504 plans for students as needed13 Participate in various school level teams (IEP, SST, SIT, etc)14 Participate in community meetings/committees as needed15 Facilitate state testing for students as directed16 Facilitate access to community resources for parents, students, and families17 Facilitate access to local, state, and national programs for students18 Provide information to all stakeholders regarding school and available programs/opportunities19 Partner closely with school health and secretarial staff to provide wrap- around processes and services for students, parents, and families20 Act as a liaison between families and school21 Serve as building coordinator for education of homeless students, and helps families experiencing homelessness access services in thecommunity22 Manage the process for students in need of home/hospital instruction23 Participate in all required school and district professional learning24 Participate in workshops, seminars, and personal reading to enhance counseling skills25 Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as assignedTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As found in the Agreement between the Kent County Teacher's Association and The Board of Education of Kent County. Ten (10) monthposition.SALARY LANE: Teacher's Lane.
