Senior Sales Account Manager - Defense Portfolio
We are seeking a Senior Sales Account Manager to drive revenue growth across CPI Power Electronics' defense portfolio, owning strategic accounts and leading capture efforts on complex, multi-million-dollar programs. This role is accountable for expanding Tier 1 defense relationships and securing design wins across high-reliability power electronics, RF power solutions, and mission-critical subsystems.You will operate as a true hunter/closer-building pipeline, shaping customer requirements, and converting opportunities into long-term production contracts within the United States Department of Defense ecosystem and prime contractor landscape.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn and execute account and capture strategies for assigned DoD and Tier 1 defense accountsIdentify, qualify, and mature a pipeline of strategic opportunities aligned to CPI's power electronics portfolioLead full lifecycle capture efforts-from early customer engagement and requirements shaping through contract award and production rampEstablish and expand executive-level relationships with key stakeholders across defense primes, integrators, and program officesInfluence specifications and drive design-in positioning on next-generation platforms (radar, EW, communications, and power systems)Develop and execute win strategies, including pricing, competitive positioning, and proposal leadership in coordination with engineering and operationsDeliver accurate pipeline visibility, revenue forecasts, and capture status to senior leadershipNavigate DoD acquisition processes, aligning pursuits with program timelines, funding cycles, and procurement pathwaysSupport resolution of critical customer escalations to protect and expand account valueWHY CPI POWER ELECTRONICSEstablished provider of high-reliability power solutions supporting mission-critical defense applicationsDirect impact on next-generation aerospace, radar, and electronic warfare platformsHigh-visibility role with influence on product direction, customer strategy, and long-term program captureOpportunity to own and scale strategic accounts within a growing defense portfolioYOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB IF YOU HAVE:S. Citizenship (required)Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearanceBachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related fieldProven track record of winning new business and closing complex, multi-million-dollar deals within the DoD and/or Tier 1 defense contractorsDemonstrated success in capture management, account growth, and pipeline developmentStrong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, including FAR/DFARS and program lifecyclesExperience managing long sales cycles and multi-year pursuitsAbility to influence senior stakeholders and decision-makers across technical and executive levelsWillingness and ability to travel up to 50% domesticallyPreferred Qualifications:Background in power electronics, RF power amplifiers, high-voltage systems, or mission-critical electronicsExperience supporting radar, electronic warfare (EW), or communications programsEstablished relationships within Tier 1 primes or DoD program officesStrong command of sales performance metrics, pipeline analytics, and capture disciplineSHAPING THE FUTURE THROUGH INNOVATION AND DISCOVERY!With a history spanning more than seven decades, Communications & Power Industries' thousands of products have impacted people's lives in numerous unseen ways every day.
