Physical Therapist

Job Summary Implements high-quality physical therapy services with minimal supervision, in accordance with physical therapy principles, practices, and company policies. Develops treatment plans, supervises assistants and aides, contributes to case management, and delivers excellent patient care. Maintains positive interactions and actively builds relationships with facilities and their staff. Essential Functions:Understand and comply with the State Practice Act, including supervision guidelines.Review and adhere to company Clinical Operations Policies & Procedures annually.Complete all required Medicare compliance and OSHA training.Evaluate patients, deliver skilled treatment when medically necessary, and clearly document medical necessity.Maintain ongoing documentation of goals, progress, and medical necessity.Complete all documentation (pre-certifications, physician reports, daily notes, charges, etc.) accurately, legibly, and on time.Maintain open, respectful communication with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and payors at all times.Attend and participate in facility meetings as directed by the Center Manager.Complete sufficient continuing education and maintain current CPR certification to meet state licensure requirements.Additional Responsibilities:Utilize time efficiently to meet facility productivity standards.Participate in and present clinical in-services as directed.Stay current with healthcare trends and issues impacting physical therapy.Play a significant role in specific center operations as agreed with the Center Manager.Perform other duties or special projects as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities:Strong team collaboration with effective leadership and coaching skills to supervise assistants and aides.Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills.Effective clinical problem-solving skills.Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills.Proficient computer skills for clinical documentation, billing, and reporting. Physical Requirements:Ability to frequently lift patients using proper biomechanical techniques; must lift 50 lbs independently.Constant walking, bending, standing, and reaching throughout the workday.Sufficient visual acuity to evaluate, diagnose, monitor patients, and maintain records.Adequate speech and hearing to understand and give directions.Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and community.Fine motor skills for accurate documentation and handling of therapeutic equipment.Required Credentials:• Graduation from a physical therapist education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) or, in the case of an internationally educated physical therapist, from a non-CAPTE accredited program seeking licensure as a physical therapist, a substantially equivalent education.
