We are seeking a detail-oriented, fast-paced 2nd Shift Dispatcher / LTL Router to support our growing freight and distribution operations. Position Summary The 2nd Shift Dispatcher / LTL Router is responsible for planning, routing, and managing daily LTL and final-mile deliveries while ensuring on-time service, cost efficiency, and driver support. This role is critical to maintaining service excellence during peak evening operations. This position requires strong decision-making skills, route optimization experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving logistics environment. Key Responsibilities Plan and optimize LTL routes for multiple drivers across service territories Dispatch drivers using TMS and routing software Monitor route progress and adjust for service failures, traffic, weather, or customer needs Communicate with drivers regarding ETAs, pickup changes, and special instructions Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards Track KPIs including on-time delivery, cost per route, and service exceptions Coordinate with warehouse, customer service, and management teams Manage service escalations professionally and efficiently Ensure accurate documentation and data entry in TMS Support after-hours operational needs Qualifications Required: 2+ years dispatching experience (LTL, freight, courier, or trucking environment preferred) Strong knowledge of routing principles and geographic territory planning Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) Ability to work 2nd shift hours consistently Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment Preferred: LTL routing experience Knowledge of Ohio regional lanes Experience with expedited freight operations Familiarity with DOT/HOS regulations Skills & Competencies High sense of urgency Strong organizational skills Analytical and cost-conscious mindset Customer-focused Calm under pressure Schedule Second Shift; 4:00PM-00:00AM, Monday-Friday Must be available for occasional weekends as required.
