Depending upon the type of emergency, any and all employees may be activated as essential employees in the event of an emergency.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSpecific Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:1. Operates motorized equipment as assigned.2. Transports supplies, tools, or other equipment to and from job site.3. Performs manual labor required for site and equipment preparation and site restoration in connection with assigned projects.4. Accurately and legibly completes and maintains work orders, records, reports, forms, and other required documentation.5. May be responsible for leading or directing work group in the absence of supervisory personnel as assigned.Responsibilities:Responsible for personal safety and proper use/care/maintenance of tools/equipment used. Responsible in work to designated supervisor.Minimum QualificationsMinimum Education and TrainingHigh school graduate or equivalent. Must possess a valid Florida class "B" Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements and free of any serious violations or a have a CDL Permit with the ability to obtain a class "B" Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within six (6) months of hire date and must possess and maintain a Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification within one (1) year of hire date.Minimum Qualifications and Standards RequiredSkill Requirements:Knowledge of applicable methods, materials, equipment and techniques. Ability to safely operate motorized and heavy equipment used in the department. Capable of sustaining regular and predictable attendance. Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Able to read and comprehend written directions and to complete all forms and reports legibly and accurately. Ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing, and via two-way radio. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit stands, walk, climb, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds. Physical exertion large part of job. Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather and for prolonged periods of time. Must have good eyesight and hearing with or without aids. Must possess excellent hand and eye coordination.
