We are currently seeking a Controls Project Designer in our Farmington Hills, MI office. As a Controls Project Designer, you will be responsible for providing control systems architecture/ engineering design services to existing and new clients in the chemical, water and wastewater treatment industries, general manufacturing, food and beverage, and petrochemical.Principal ResponsibilitiesMeet with existing clients on a regular basis to discuss projectsBe involved in training, and mentoring of staffMarket control engineering services to existing clientsDevelopment and design of control systemsField troubleshooting of PLC and control devicesCommissioning and start-up of systemsControl Panel DesignPLC/HMI ProgrammingDevelopment of Bill of Material (BOM) documentationOther duties as assignedRequired Skills/AbilitiesMust be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities listed above and have demonstrated leadership traitsSelf-starterAbility to perform quality control checksAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsSkill in the use of Microsoft Office programs; Control Systems Architecture/Engineering DesignNetworking skills and server installationsCommissioning and start-up experience with control systemsKnowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC Programming / Factory Talk DevelopmentProficiency with Wonderware, Siemens PLC / DCS Programming and HMI Development, AutoCAD ElectricalThis position not eligible for sponsorshipEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree (Science)minimum of 5 years of qualifying experienceor10 years of experience or equivalent experiencePhysical RequirementsRegularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 poundsOccasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms and grasp or pullWill have exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noisesAbility to work in Industrial settingCompany rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
