Kitchen Shift Leader This position is a full-time (35-40 hours per week), hourly, non-exempt role. Salary: $24.00 - $27.00, per hour - see below for additional salary and benefits offered for this position. This position requires 100% on-site work at 3181 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Must be 18 years of age or older, authorized to work in the U.S., and able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds over short and low distances. A qualified candidate will have the ability to speak and understand English. A qualified candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the restaurant industry and a minimum of 1 year of proven management experience, ideally within the restaurant industry. As a kitchen shift leader, you will join a leadership team that are the influencers and culture carriers behind the Chick-fil-A brand. Our leadership team works together to serve thousands of guests every day with excellence and care. This position requires full commitment and effort within our shift operations team. You will ensure consistent compliance by staff from shift to shift through communication, training, and enforcement. As a shift leader, you will be responsible for: Managing shift operations and logistics within your team Completing assigned tasks and reports Training and communicating with staff in a professional and effective manner Continuous growth in personal and team development Preparing food, cooking, and assembling agricultural products, raw, cold, and hot products for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catering orders, and takeout meals Maintaining a clean and shiny store Receiving the truck and maintaining inventory organization when assigned Following LEAN processes and procedures for quality control and inventory Carrying out food safety and quality practices and measures, including SAFE, Daily Critical, and daily eRQA Collaborating with team members and fulfilling our mission: Excellence Every Day and Care for All Achieving annual and 90-day performance goals Shift kitchen leaders are expected to work regularly six or eight-hour shifts, at various times within different parts of the day: morning (5:30 a.m.-2 p.m.), afternoon (11 a.m.-7:30 p.m.), or night (3:30 p.m.-12 a.m.), depending on business needs and store performance goals. A primary candidate will have availability during two, three, or all of these days on a part-time basis regularly and also have open availability during the weekend between Thursday and Saturday. As a shift leader, you will focus on the following areas in your daily performance: Culture Leading the culture: As a key leader, you are responsible for maintaining the culture. Unity: You will collaborate with Operations Managers and the Director of Operations, and other Shift Leaders to maintain a cohesive and positive experience for the team. All leaders are expected to speak with one voice. You are expected to be a leader with positive and encouraging communication within the leadership team. You must quickly address any negative communication by directing it towards a resolution with the individuals involved. You are not a solo leader. You are part of a unified leadership team that showcases the culture of Harbor Blvd. Growth You are expected to continuously grow yourself and your team at the same time. Both are necessary as a key leader and vital to the health of the company. Growing Yourself: There are many ways to do this (books, podcasts, training, mentors, webinars, etc.). Partner with your manager to be guided in the right areas. As a leader, you are helping managers manage the lives of many people. That is a big responsibility. You must be intentional and consistent with your growth. Your team needs you to be a great leader and being a great leader takes a lot of work. Team Care: It is part of your role to train and encourage others to participate in opportunities to grow their own skills. Coaching, feedback, and accountability are performed throughout the day with the purpose of growing team members to be the best they can be. This must be done because you care about them personally and want them to be their best every day. Quarterly Performance Reviews: You will work with Operations Managers to conduct performance reviews for team members. This is a key development tool to use 4 times a year to set specific goals and provide beneficial feedback. This tool must be taken seriously and given priority in your efforts. Operational Excellence Fast Service: You are responsible for the punctuality and efficiency of the drive-thru. We strive to serve guests in 3 minutes or less. You are also responsible for quick and memorable experiences. Many things must happen in concert to achieve this goal. It is your job to lead your shift team to make this a reality during each shift you oversee. Cleanliness: We manage our restaurant and team. It is your job to keep these things clean and in good working order at all times. The drive-thru is the first area our guests see and will speak to the rest of the restaurant and your leadership. Keep it clean! Order Accuracy: You are responsible for ensuring that all orders taken are 100% accurate.
