Heavy Civil Estimator / Business Development

Job Description About the roleWe are hiring a client-facing Heavy Civil Estimator with strong experience in dirt work, grading, concrete, and asphalt paving. This person must be able to read civil plans, build accurate estimates, and help turn opportunities into awarded work.What this person will doReview civil plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documentsPrepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for dirt work, grading, concrete, and asphalt pavingBuild and manage estimates using Dirt Works estimating software and ExcelSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricingAttend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and client meetingsHelp develop relationships with GCs, developers, municipalities, and repeat customersCoordinate handoff of awarded work to operations/project teamsRequired qualificationsStrong estimating experience in heavy civil, sitework, earthwork, grading, paving, or related civil constructionProven experience with dirt work, grading, concrete, and asphalt paving scopesProficiency in Dirt Works estimating software and ExcelAbility to read and interpret civil plans, profiles, details, and specificationsStrong communication skills and customer-facing professionalismMust live in Southern Nevada, Utah, or ArizonaPreferredExperience bidding public works, DOT, municipal, and private site-development projectsExisting relationships in the Nevada, Utah, and Arizona civil construction marketAbility to manage both estimating and front-end client interactionCompensationBase salary DOEPerformance bonus and/or commission tied to awarded workVehicle allowance, phone, laptop, and benefitsCompany DescriptionBusy Asphalt Company, family owned, been in business for 40 years.Company DescriptionBusy Asphalt Company, family owned, been in business for 40 years.
