AWS Developer - Python - OnSite - Local to Reston Only

AWS Developer - Python - OnSite - Reston Only Contract position located in Reston, required to work on-site 3 days per week. Candidates must be local to Reston; relocation is not permitted. Responsibilities Develop and maintain big-data pipelines for data processing and analysis using Python. Design and implement solutions on Hadoop EMR, Spark, PySpark, Hive, and AWS services. Automate deployments and infrastructure using Terraform and implement CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate with a team of developers to assist with development and code reviews. Advise on best possible solutions and tools to achieve project objectives. Essential Qualifications 10+ years of hands-on Python development experience focused on big-data applications. Extensive experience building scalable and efficient data processing pipelines with Hadoop/EMR, Spark, Hive. In-depth knowledge of AWS platforms/services such as Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, Redshift, S3, and Glue. Strong experience making API calls, executing SQL queries, and performing data manipulation, transformation, analysis, and visualization. Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design and tools such as GitLab, Terraform, and GitHub. Critical thinking and analytical skills to develop and evaluate alternative solutions. Effective collaboration and communication skills across matrixed teams. Core Skills Python development (10+ years) for big-data. AWS services (EMR, Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, Redshift, S3, Glue) – 5+ years. SQL, Spark, data manipulation, transformation, analysis, visualization – 5+ years. CI/CD tools (GitLab, Terraform) – hands-on experience. Nice to Have Knowledge of AWS AI services. Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tennable, Wiz, or Kenna. Background in financial or mortgage-related data domains.
