The employee will:Treat everyone with dignity and respectHonor and support rights and confidentialityPromote the best possible health with protection from abuse, neglect and exploitationEngage with honesty, integrity, and ethical standards in actions and communicationsComply with applicable laws and regulations to prevent fraud, waste, conflict of interest, and inaccuracy in record-keepingSchedule4 pm - 12 am on Sunday - Thursday OR Tuesday - Saturday, depending upon the employee's preference at the time of hireMust be available to work one shift during two of three holiday seasons: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.Duties/ResponsibilitiesSupport individuals in self-advocacy and making informed choicesAssist with bathing, showering, toileting, feeding, meal preparation, grooming/hygiene, wound-care, mobility, and laundryProvide emotional support to the individuals servedPrepare food items according to dietary needs and preferencesPass medications in accordance with IDHS Rule 116Transport individuals using agency-owned vehiclesAssist in obtaining, counting, documenting, and returning (as required) money used by the individuals servedComplete house safety checks and communicate house safety concerns to your supervisor as they ariseKeep the common living areas of the homes clean and assist individuals, as requested, to maintain their personal living areasProvide and document services, supports, health-related concerns, and medication administration in accordance with agency policiesTreat the individuals served, co-workers, guardians, and all others in the workplace in a professional manner that reflects the agency's Code of ConductClock in and out for all shifts and enter requested time off using the MITC systemShow up on time and as scheduled for all assigned shiftsComplete all required in-service material reviewsAttend all in-service meetings, trainings, and house meetingsReport abuse and neglect in accordance with OIG Rule 50Abide by CCAR's Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, and Corporate Compliance policies at all timesRequirementsPossess a valid driver's license with the ability to drive in the daytime or at nightMust be at least 18 years oldProvide proof of a high school diploma (via transcripts) or GEDMust pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46), and a DCFS Child Abuse and Neglect background checkSuccessfully complete and maintain American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certificationSuccessfully complete Direct Support Person training in accordance with IDHS requirementsPass the Short Test of Functional Health Literacy in Adults (S-TOFHLA)Successfully complete medication administration training and annual recertifications to maintain medication administration statusWagesThis position starts at $18.75/hour as staff members receive paid training.When all training is completed, the employee will earn $19/hourOnce all training is complete, the wage will increase to $19.25/hour.Pay ScheduleEvery two weeks with direct deposit available upon requestBenefits AvailablePaid Time OffPaid HolidaysOffered: Health Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, Dental Insurance, and Vision InsuranceFlexible Spending Account optionProfit-SharingEmployee Assistance Program403 (b) Investment Plan option
