Across our family of banners-including Price Chopper, Hen House, Sun Fresh, and Payless Discount Foods-we are committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences through quality care, teamwork, and consistency.If you enjoy working in different environments, supporting diverse teams, and playing a key role in patient care and pharmacy operations, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills and make an impact.Key ResponsibilitiesPrescription Processing & Technical Support: Responsible for accurately supporting the preparation and processing of prescriptions, including data entry, medication preparation, labeling, and insurance claim coordination, while ensuring compliance with all pharmacy regulations and safety standards.Customer Service & Patient Support: Provides exceptional customer service by assisting patients with prescription pick-up, answering non-clinical questions, managing transactions, and ensuring a positive, respectful, and confidential experience for every customer.Pharmacy Operations & Inventory Coordination: Supports daily pharmacy operations by maintaining inventory, stocking medications, monitoring for outdated products, and ensuring the department remains organized, clean, and fully functional.Compliance, Communication & Team Collaboration: Works collaboratively with pharmacists and team members to ensure adherence to company policies, HIPAA regulations, and safety standards, while communicating effectively and escalating clinical questions appropriately.Essential Job DutiesAnswering telephone and handling questions that do not require a pharmacist's expertiseReceiving written prescriptions or telephoned refill requestsGathering information to prepare prescriptions (name, DOB, address, phone, allergies, insurance info)Entering data into the computer for filling prescriptionsHelping pharmacists prepare prescriptions by counting or pouring medications correctly,labeling containers, and pricing prescriptionsKeeping pharmacy department supplies well stocked and orderedPlacing completed prescriptions in pick-up areaOrdering, receiving, and stocking the shelves with medications when they arrive from suppliersPreparing insurance claims and verifying paymentsHelping patients find OTC medications, but not recommending OTC productsRinging purchases in cash register and recording prescriptions in electronic signature logPerforming housekeeping duties within the pharmacy (vacuum weekly, empty trash when needed, etc.)Checking shelves routinely for outdated medicationsProcessing outdated medications and preparing them for return to supplierRequesting the pharmacist to counsel the patient when picking up a new prescriptionBeing courteous and friendly to all customersAnswering only non-judgmental questions and referring the patient to the pharmacist concerning all other question and concerns that require clinical expertiseMaking announcements over the PA about any promotions in the pharmacyOther duties as assignedCompetencies For SuccessJob & Technical Expertise: Demonstrate depth of knowledge and skill in a technical or functional area.Customer Service & Retention: Demonstrate concern for satisfying external and/or internal customers.Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support.Teamwork & Collaboration: Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with others to achieve a common goal: Build relationships, share responsibility, resolve conflict, and respect diversity.Minimum QualificationsRequired: Pharmacy technician license in good standing with appropriate state board of pharmacyRequired: Licensure in both Missouri and Kansas is necessary for continued placement in the position and preferred for initial hireRequired: Ability and willingness to travel between pharmacy locations in Missouri and Kansas as scheduled, including reliable transportation and flexibility to support staffing needs across multiple sitesPreferred: Previous retail pharmacy experienceJob Posted by ApplicantPro
